New contact lenses, specialist optical care or replacement designer glasses – those optical costs can certainly add up and give you a nasty shock. That is why we offer a range of solutions with individual or corporate optical cover that ensures you can afford your optical care bills without worry.

Paycare’s optical cover offers a type of optical insurance that is affordable and that gives a cash refund to cover the money paid out for optical treatment or goods.

There are also many benefits for staff within organisations that promote a company eyecare cash plan which includes corporate eyecare vouchers through business optical insurance.

Paycare offer a range of health cash plans that put you in total control. We give you instant peace of mind that you will be able to afford your optical care, check-ups or goods through whichever Paycare plan you choose, rather than finding a lump sum at short notice.

Dental treatments

Our dental cover includes regular check-ups, dental crowns, fillings, x-rays, orthodontist treatment and much more. Routine check-ups help maintain oral hygiene and our cover means you no longer need to worry about the costs of dental emergencies.

More details
Dental charges can really mount up, even under the NHS.

For most people that means finding money to pay for treatment. The alternative is to protect yourself, proactively, with affordable dental insurance in the form of an individual health cash plan or be lucky enough to benefit from staff dental cover provided by a company dental plan.

The Paycare employee dental plan provides business dental insurance, encouraging staff members to make regular visits to their dentist to help prevent the need for costly treatment and to generally improve their oral hygiene. These dental benefits are available for small business or larger groups.

Whether private or corporate, all Paycare policies contain dental cover insurance for treatment. The annual amount that can be recovered depends on the level of premium you feel that you can afford.

Our Physiotherapy cover includes a range of treatments. Therapists will assess, diagnose and treat physical symptoms & limited movement caused by injury, ageing, disability, or health condition.

More details
Often referred to as physio, physiotherapy uses physical methods, such as massage and manipulation, to promote healing and wellbeing. Physiotherapy treatments are often used to help restore a person’s range of movement after injury or illness.

In some instances, physiotherapy can come under the NHS, but long waiting lists and gaps between appointments can prolong the recovery period. Our physiotherapy cover can help speed this process up without the fear of building costs.

Physiotherapists help and treat people of all ages with physical problems caused by illness, accident or ageing. They also work with people who have mental health problems, stroke patients and children.

Chiropractic

Our chiropractic cover includes diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the spine, joints and muscles. When combined with a healthy lifestyle, chiropractic is a true wellness enabler.

More details
Chiropractors specialise in using manual methods (working using their hands) to diagnose, treat and prevent mechanical disorders of the spine, joints and muscles. Mechanical disorders are those when bones or joints have been stretched or fallen out of their natural position.

Treatment consists of stretching and manipulation (moving) of the joints. The main purpose is to realign (put back in the correct position) the spine and other skeletal structures of the body. Chiropractors are also concerned with the effects that misaligned joints have on the nervous system. By restoring the natural position of the bones and joints, they believe that the body will be abler to heal itself of a range of related problems, such as headaches or back pain.

Most people who use a chiropractor pay for private treatment. The cost of chiropractic varies and depends on the length of a particular chiropractic session.

Our specialist consultation cover includes all specialist appointments, initially recommended by a GP,including any additional special diagnostic tests and procedures in order to assist with confirmation of conditions. Plus, cover for a dependent child.
More details
Sometimes, unfortunately, you, or a dependent child, may need the help of a medical specialist to assist in the diagnosis of a condition and a healthcare cash plan from Paycare can support the procedures required to do this.

You may be required to have a range of exploratory tests, as an initial or follow up request from your GP such as X-rays, blood tests or a colonoscopy or even be liable for room or equipment hire charges in relation to any private consultations.

Also, a cost that you might not have been expecting could be excess charges for your consultation and treatment from private medical insurance.

Many Paycare health cash plans will help you to meet these costs or reimburse you in some way depending on the level of premium you choose to invest.

Acupuncture

Our acupuncture cover includes claim back on treatments for specific aches and pains, such as osteoarthritis, headaches and low back pain. Plus, it can also be used for a wider range of health conditions such as infertility, anxiety, asthma and can benefit general health and wellbeing.

More details
Acupuncture is a form of ancient Chinese medicine in which fine needles are inserted into the skin at certain points on the body.

It is a complementary or alternative medicine. If you choose to have acupuncture, make sure that your acupuncturist is fully qualified. Acupuncture is different, in important ways, from conventional western medicine.

Some scientists and acupuncturists believe that acupuncture may stimulate nerves and muscle tissue, and that this may be responsible for the beneficial effects that have been observed in some scientific trials.

Most acupuncture patients pay for private treatment, and the cost of acupuncture varies widely between practitioners.

Our reflexology cover includes treatments that will bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions such as stress related disorders, Arthritis & Circulatory problems. Reflexology is a holistic therapy suitable for all ages and is beneficial for general health & wellbeing.

More details
Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body.

Whilst the art of reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, this therapy was not introduced to the West until Dr William Fitzgerald developed ‘Zone therapy’. He believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone.

In the 1930’s, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone theory into what is known as reflexology. Her opinion was that congestion or tension in any part of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding part of the body.

Hypnotherapy

Our hypnotherapy cover includes treatment of many conditions including anxiety, phobias, addictions, weight problems, pain and insomnia. Hypnosis is designed to induce a relaxed, suggestible state of mind and is beneficial for general health & wellbeing.

More details
Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnotic techniques in such a way as to bring about therapeutic changes. An external influence (the Therapist) assists in activating the inner resources of a person (the Client) in order to achieve realistic goals.

During hypnosis the patient enters a relaxed state, in which respiration, heart and metabolic rates slow down and the conscious mind is bypassed, leaving the unconscious or subconscious mind open to suggestion. The use of trance states to facilitate healing dates back to ancient times.

Our osteopathy cover includes detection and treatment of problems with the muscles, nerves and joints. Osteopathy is suitable for almost anyone, including children, pregnant women and the elderly. Also benefiting general health & wellbeing.

More details
Osteopathy is a manipulation technique that detects and treats problems with the muscles, nerves and joints. Osteopathy is known as a manipulation technique because an osteopath will use their hands – it does not involve the use of surgery or drugs.

The main idea behind osteopathy is that your body’s function and structure work closely together. This means that any problems or pain associated with the structure of your body could also have an affect on your internal organs. Therefore, if the structure of your body is good, it will ease pain on the outside of your body and help treat any illness inside your body.

  • Chiropodists (often now called podiatrists) treat a wide variety of abnormalities and conditions of the foot and lower limb. They work with all ages, but play an important role in helping older or disabled people to stay mobile and independent.

By law only practitioners who are registered with the Health Professions Council (the regulatory body) are allowed to use the titles ‘chiropodist’ and ‘podiatrist’. Our hospital cover will pay up to 5 nights per benefit year for In-patient or parental stay and 15 hospital day cases per benefit year. Plus, treatment or investigation of a medical condition that requires medically supervised recovery.

More details
Dental and optical treatment can cost a lot of money, but at least staying as a hospital in-patient is free, isn’t it?

That’s largely true. There are no direct hospital in-patient costs and you won’t be charged for your basic care, drugs, nursing or food.

But an overnight stay in hospital as a patient yourself or as the parent of a dependent child that needs you to stay in hospital with them could cost you directly in lost overtime, unprotected earnings or even benefit deductions.

You might also find yourself admitted as a hospital day case for treatment or investigation and then find yourself requiring medical help with your recovery.

Either way it could be a cost that you were not expecting!

Many Paycare health cash plans contain a daily payment for hospital stay insurance – helping you to meet any extra costs or compensating (in part) for lost income by giving you hospital cover. The annual amount that can be recovered depends on the level of premium you feel that you can afford.
