The link between two Midlands organisations has been going strong for more than 20 years.
Ricoh UK Products Ltd, which makes industry-leading hardware and software products for commercial, office and home use, has relied on Paycare (a not-for-profit Health Cash Plan provider) for two decades.
The company, which is based in Telford, initially had a voluntary plan – which meant staff could choose whether to take a small payroll deduction in return for all the benefits of a HCP.
But in 2006, Ricoh management took the decision to switch their plan, meaning the contribution towards the HCP was paid by the company itself and staff were able to access it for free.
Health Cash Plans provided by Paycare enable the staff at Ricoh, and hundreds of other organisations across the UK, to claim cashback on a range of healthcare costs including optical, dental, physiotherapy and much more.
Plans also include access to a confidential telephone helpline and counselling (also known as an Employee Assistance Programme), a 24-hour virtual GP service, and the Paycare Perks discount scheme.
Ricoh’s Senior HR Officer Becky Jones said:
“As a not-for-profit organisation, Paycare was attractive not only due to the benefits on offer, but also due to Ricoh knowing it would remain affordable.
“Also, Paycare pays attention to its members’ needs and regularly reviews its benefits to suit the changing demands for services such as counselling and professional therapies.
“Through the utilisation of Paycare, Ricoh has been able to support employees proactively with health matters, reducing the length and frequency of absences through benefits such as counselling and physiotherapy.
“Having an adaptable and relevant Health Cash Plan and Employee Assistance Programme is a must for all businesses.”
